most folks who do phone work now also do webcam work. I used to do phone sex but there really isn't much money and business in it. you cancheck the back of local weeklies and they often have ads for phone lines that are hiring. some folks I know use keen.com and have phone boxes on thier websites. doing phone work to make quick cash isn't a great idea. you get paid a base amount per call and then e amount of money per each additional minute. where most folks make thier money is in gifts and selling things like panties etc to the callers. callers can also give you tips through the companies. a way to make more money is through webcams. the folks that usually make money on either phones or webcams are people that look at it as a serious business, market themselve and spend the time to get a clientele. figure jsut working for a company you're only going to average 20 bucks an hour if you don't put work into it.. the way it works with most is you call in to be avaiable and then they call you and connect you to the callers. having a website and being on forums will bring callers to you.

Have your friend ask herself, "how will I handle it if a caller is abusive, or else has a REALLY strange sex fantasy that grosses me out or strikes me as just plain sick?"
No, I'm not an expert on phone sex or doing it for pay, either.
But my experience in seeing or hearing other's sex fantasies on Tribe, tells me that some people's fantasies are way stranger and more "out there" than mine, and that there is SUCH a variety of things that can possibly make people "hot".

I disagree strongly that most PSOs do cam work. Some do, but most definitely not "most." I also disagree that there's not much money in phone sex--for some it is part-time extra cash, for others it is very good paying full-time work, and for a very few it is extraordinarily lucrative. But, like with any business, it takes a lot of hard work to build regular clientele, plus some luck...and, like with any skill set, some folks just happen to be really good at it. I do agree, though, that there's not a ton of money right at the start.

There's a whole book- "Phone Sex". I forget who by, but it gives you a lot of info and explains what it's like.
I think it's the sort of thing to do part time, but don't expect full time pay out of it.
As someone mentioned- since a lot of phone sex workers do webcam now, it means if you aren't comfortable with that there's some competition. I don't know if the States has text chat- they do here, and that can help supplement your income a little more.
You need a land line. And a lot of companies will insist on 30 hour weeks.
